Description of cover provided by manufacturers for items ordered through the TELA scheme

Items ordered through the TELA schemes are not covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act. This is because schools, businesses and government departments are not recognised as consumers and because the goods available through the scheme are intended for commercial use.
Because of this the scheme has introduced minimum warranty and support requirements for manufacturers that supply to the scheme. These policies have been introduced for the benefit of schools to help provide a similar level of support.
