What are the key factors schools should consider when choosing a projector?

Primarily image quality, brightness and the cost of ownership, as well as features designed to help reduce the risk of theft and premature wear and tear. These are fundamental to ensuring the technology does not become a liability to the school.

What things should schools be aware of when choosing a projector?

When choosing a projector look for a 3 year warranty. The cost of repairing faults outside of warranty can be more than that of a replacement projector.
Aim for at least 2000-3000 hours maximum lamp life (ignore the often-quoted ‘Eco’ mode lamp life – this is estimated for a reduced brightness setting only).
Also remember there’s no guarantee that a low cost projector has a low cost replacement lamp, so it pays to check before buying - the cost of some replacement lamps on the market can be many hundreds of dollars.

What are the advantages for schools using the TELA Classroom Projectors?

Many schools don’t have the purchasing power to negotiate suitable deals when buying such equipment. The scheme negotiates competitive pricing for a wide range of good quality projectors and lamps on the behalf of schools. These products and prices are available to every state sector school, regardless of size.
Projectors accepted in to the scheme have to pass stringent testing procedures for image quality, usability and compatibility with TELA teacher laptops. These performance standards are revised annually to ensure continual improvement. Projectors leased through the scheme’s financier are provided with 3 years $0 excess insurance and all projectors are provided with a 3 year manufacturer warranty.
Overall this makes the technology accessible for more schools while reducing the risk of ownership.
