EditIs there any way I can estimate where to install my projector
ProjectorCentral.com offers a useful screen calculator which allows you to estimate where a particular projector should be placed in relation to a particular sized screen. The calculator also advises whether the projector will have sufficient brightness for your chosen screen size and room lighting conditions.
Use the search boxes to find your projector model. Please note this link will open in a new browser window:

EditDoes the projector need to be mounted to a ceiling or trolley?
The scheme sells a small number of high brightness projectors that are best suited for permanent installation and ceiling mounting. The majority of TELA projectors can also be used as portable projectors.
Portable models include carry bags for easy portability between classrooms and weigh around the same amount as current teacher laptops.
When transporting projectors between classrooms, we recommend staff follow each projector’s cool-down instructions to prevent overheating and shortening of the projector’s usable life. Projectors should be treated with the same care as staff laptops to ensure reliable and consistent performance.

EditFactors that need to be considered if you wish to have a projector ceiling-mounted
• Not all ceiling mounts are lockable or secured against theft
• Some projectors have security bars, which allow you to chain or padlock the projector to help prevent theft.
• Many projectors have filters that need cleaning or replacing at least once per term – for some projectors this may involve removing the projector from its ceiling mount
• Avoid ceiling mounts or cages that obstruct the projector's vents or remote control receivers (the small glossy black panels at the front and rear of most projectors).
• Some projectors have lamps that are easily changed without needing to remove the projector from a ceiling mount.
• Projectors should be regularly dusted
• The cost of ceiling installation quoted by installer companies may exclude the cost of an electrician (a power plug may be needed on the ceiling to provide power to the projector).
• Classrooms with particularly high ceilings may require long pole mounted ceiling brackets
• Projectors have different throw angles – some projectors can be mounted closer to the ceiling than others while projecting a distortion-free image.
• If you are replacing an existing ceiling mounted projector with a new model you may need to change the position of the ceiling mount - the new projector may project a smaller or larger image that may be higher or lower than the previous projector.
