Why do I have so many lease agreements and different return dates?

Every laptop order results in a new lease schedule being produced. In the case of upgrades a separate schedule is required for base models. When ordering laptops for newly eligible teachers it is recommended that schools aggregate several TELA orders in to one TELA order where possible to reduce the school's paperwork.
For further information regarding placing TELA orders for newly eligible staff versus placing orders for laptops to replace those on expiring leases, please see this article. Edit

Is there a site I can go to to review the school's lease information?

This is currently in development and expected to be released in the near future. In the interim schools can request these details by contacting Equico: (Contacts).

What costs are covered through the lease?

The lease cost covers:
- the Laptop
- 3 year warranty
- 3 year indemnity cover
- Distribution
- Helpdesk support
- End of lease collection
- General administration
Edit

Why does it cost so much to purchase a laptop part way through the lease?

Given the fixed term nature of the TELA leases, an early payout needs to cover the following costs:
- the sum of the remaining school lease payments
- the sum of the remaining MOE lease payments
- the residual value of the laptop Edit

Why can I not choose my own leasing company?

The majority of each lease is paid to the financier by the Ministry through a master rental agreement.
For schools to choose their own leasing companies, the Ministry would have to contract to multiple finance providers for the TELA scheme. However the TELA scheme does not have the resources to control and manage multiple finance providers. The finance provider contract is tendered by the scheme.
