The finance provider, Equico decides whether schools can pay to retain laptops at the end of lease and the amount that needs to be paid to retain them. This service is provided by Equico outside of the TELA scheme. The finance provider, Equico, takes an up front residual investment on each laptop, which results in reduced lease payments for schools throughout the term of the lease. The retention price of the laptop is driven by the secondary resale market.
